2024 Rivian R1T Adventure Dual Motor Standard+ Pack Review
The 2024 Rivian r1t Adventure dual motor standard+ pack dual motor standard+ pack is the latest update to an electric pickup that’s unlike any other on sale today. It’s smaller than big trucks like the F-150 and still has a relatively short 4.5-foot bed, but it offers all-wheel drive, an innovative gear tunnel and plenty of useful storage. Plus, it drives fast, hauls a ton and has an impressive driving range. It’s also one of the most versatile vehicles on sale, with an extensive set of innovations and easy-to-use information-filled interfaces.
The base 105-kWh battery and Dual Motor powertrain make for an impressive commuter, with a claimed driving range of about 270 miles. You can upgrade to a Large or Max battery pack for even more range. Performance models add software programming to give the Twin-Motor version of the truck a sport mode, and output is upped to 665 horsepower and 829 pound-feet, drawing from the Large or Max battery packs.

We drove a Dual-Motor R1T with the Large battery pack, and found it to be a quick and fun truck on the road. It clocked in at just over 3.5 seconds from zero to 60 mph, which is close to the best time we’ve recorded for any pickup.
On our two-hour highway jaunt, the R1T averaged about 2.0 miles per kWh, putting it well within its stated range with the Large battery. It’s also a Top Safety Pick, with a long list of standard driver-assistance features including rearview cameras, forward collision warning, forward automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control and a surround-view camera system. Rivian also includes two complete sets of LATCH connectors for installing child seats in the back row.
